　　家長和孩子一起用「麻吉單字」開心學英文！
 
　　「麻吉單字」是什麼？
　　「麻吉單字」指的是「兩個放在一起使用的單字」，學術上稱之為「搭配詞」（Collocation），亦稱之為搭配單字。
 
　　為了讓家長們能更了解，請思考以下問題：如果把「高山」、「高樓」轉換成英文單字，會是「high mountain」和「high building」嗎？
 
　　其實不是喔！若把中文的「高」放在山或是建築物上都很適合，但英文中有「高」意思的「high」，不能像這樣無條件使用，它可使用在「high mountain（高山）」上，但卻不適用於「high building」。因此「mountain（山）」和「high（高）」彼此是搭配詞，而「building」（建築物）和「tall（高）」才是搭配詞，因此「tall building（高樓）」才是正確的用法。像這種互相合適的單字們我們稱之為「搭配詞」。
 
　　用「麻吉單字」學英文有什麼優點？
　　第一、能讓我們有和母語者一樣的詞彙語感，直接把母語者的表現方式物體化，減少從中文轉換成英文時的臺式英文錯誤。
 
　　第二、對英文寫作有很大的幫助，因為只要記住搭配好的「麻吉單字」，就能自然而然地理解英文單字的各種組合，讓寫作能力可以達到更高的水準。
 
　　第三、對背單字的速度也有助益，只要透過一、兩次的狀況聯想來背「麻吉單字」，會比死背的速度更快，印象也會比較深刻。
